Child Protection / Foundation Course
Twenty-two of our underage managers, mentors
and club members took part in a child protection/foundation
course in the club over the week-end which was provided by
the Ulster Council and presented by Gary Mallon and former
county star, Diarmuid Marsden. On Friday evening all the participants
completed the child protection session of the course whilst
Saturday was mostly taken up with practical coaching sessions
on the field. Although there was a serious element to the
course everyone who attended had good craic and it also proved
to be a good team-building exercise, especially for some of
the new faces about the club.
Underage Training Structure
Minors: Tuesday evening
from 7.30pm – 9.00pm in the old school boxing club in
Camlough
U16s: Tuesday evening from
6.00pm – 7.30 in Camlough Boxing club and Saturday afternoon
from 3.00pm – 4.30pm at the field
U14s: Thursday evening at
the field from 7.00pm. Please note that the U14s have a challenge
game next Sunday, 14th February at home to Newry Shamrocks
at 12 o’clock. All players are asked to be at the club
no later than 11.30am
U12s: Tuesday evening from
7.15pm – 8.15pm in St. Pauls
U10s: Tuesday evening from
7.15pm – 8.15pm in St. Pauls
U8s: Tuesday evening from
6.00pm – 7.00pm in St. Pauls
U6s: Tuesday evening from
6.00pm – 7.00pm in St. Pauls.
Girls: Sunday from 11.00am
– 12.30pm at St Pauls training field. Please note that
this training is for all our girls, no matter what age group.
Gaelic 4 Mums
Training for all our Gaelic 4 Mums resumes
this Wednesday evening from 7.15pm – 8.15pm at the field.
St.Patrick's Day Draw
The club is once again holding its annual
St Patricks Day draw. This year’s prize is a £2,000
holiday voucher. Tickets are priced at £10.00 each and
are now available to buy from any committee member. The draw
will take place in the club on St Patricks Day, Wednesday
17th March @ 9.00pm. Anyone who has sold tickets is asked
to return them and the money for them to the club asap.
Sponsored Dip Money
Anyone with any outstanding sponsor money
from the recent annual lake dip is asked to hand it into the
club asap.
Articles For PRO
Anyone who has an article/news they want
included in the weekly notes is asked to inform the PRO before
6.00pm on Sunday evenings on 07543 806274.
Planned Under 10 Trip
Our U10 management are planning to take their
U10 squad to Croke Park some time over the Easter holidays.
Plans for the trip are only in the early stages and more information
will be provided over the coming weeks.
Club Membership
Club membership for the coming year is due
again at the following rates: U16 - £5.00, Students
& OAPS - £10, All Others - £20.
Birthday Greetings
A big happy birthday this week to Fiona McTaggart
who celebrated her 40th birthday at the week-end with a surprise
party on Saturday night. A big happy birthday also to our
U10 player, James McLoughlin, who celebrated his birthday
at the week-end.
Condolences
Everyone at the club would like to offer
their sympathy to the family of Gene McGivern who died last
week-end. Gene was the father of our former senior player
Andrew and grand-father of our former underage player Aaron.
