Seniors
Our senior team stopped their recent run of poor results
with a well deserved and ultimately much needed win over Collegeland
on Friday evening. Having beaten their opponents already this
season the lads went into the game confident of picking up
another two league points. This win will undoubtedly lift
the confidence of the lads again and they will be hoping for
another two league points next Sunday when they travel to
Lisummon.

Under 12's
It was hard luck for our U12 footballers on Saturday when
they were beaten by eight points by Dromintee in the final
of the Division 1 shield final. The Shanes were slow to get
started in the game and found themselves 2 – 5 to no
score down before Aimee Mackin got their first score with
a well taken point. Dromintee got another point before a Donal
Austin and a Mark McCabe goal reduced the arrears. Dromintee
got the last score of the half with another point. The Shanes
began the second-half in determined style and scored a goal
and two points without reply to leave just four between the
sides. However, Dromintee broke away and scored another goal
to increase their lead again. A James Robinson point reduced
the deficit again but Dromintee finished the stronger side
and scored four points before Aimee Mackin pulled one back
to leave the final score 3 – 11 to 2 – 6 in favour
of Dromintee.Well done to all the Shanes players for their
hard work and effort on the day but unfortunately it just
wasn’t to be. Well done also to Paddy Doran, Gavin Brannigan
and Kieran Malone for working and training with the players
all year.
